Check out some of these fresh, new business names that have recently been developed and available immediately:
Select a Name Decision Team
When you begin the process of selecting a new company name, we advise that you form a very small “decision team.” You may be the only member of the team – or you may include a few additional members. The smaller the team, the more easy it will be to make decisions.
We have been involved in far too many new company naming projects that have been burdened with unwieldy decision teams. In fact, one of the challenges that face big companies is the inclusion of too many decision makers – each team member with their own agenda. The result is often a mediocre name that appeals to the lowest common denominator.
You’ll want input from diverse participants – just not on the decision team.
Your Company Stakeholders
Your new company has (or will have) a variety of stakeholders or claimants whose perspectives and views you’ll want to receive.
Quite simply, a stakeholder is any person or entity that has a “stake” or a vested interest in your new company. It’s easy to think of stakeholders that are within the company (internal stakeholders) and stakeholders outside of the company (external stakeholders).
Internal stakeholders include:
• Employees
• Senior Executive Team
• Key Stockholders
• Board of Directors
External stakeholders include:
• Union Representatives
• Governmental Units
• Community Leaders
• Vendors
• Suppliers
• Banks/Lenders
• Special Interest Groups
Each of these stakeholder groups has a unique perspective on the business. You’ll want to get input from the stakeholders relevant for your purposes. The stakeholders should act as a sounding board during key parts of the new company naming process.
You might want to involve select stakeholders at the onset of the naming process to help guide your initial thinking. They can also help narrow a list of potential new company names and assist in refining typefont, image, color and other visual elements.
While you should consider their input, remember the ultimate naming decisions rest solely with the decision team.
